Your solution to the current impasse in Iraq, while alluring to defense policy analysts, fails to acknowledge the situation in Palestine (occupied and unoccupied). Iran, like many other Muslim nations, supports the Palestinian cause. Therefore, it would be unrealistic to imagine a long-term solution to the Middle-East crisis in general and the Iraq crisis in particular through a negotiated settlement between Iran and the US while ignoring Palestine. US should also seriously think about a peaceful negotiation between Palestine and Israel, however protracted and also stop providing moral and military assistance to Israel - assistance which Israel has used to perpetuate the killings of Palestinians.
